Bubba's Big Move

Monday's plan was to move deep clean our bedrooms and move Harry's crib into the boys' room. I got an extra early start on this project since Harry woke up at 2:45 crying as if I hadn't fed him in weeks. That child has developed quite the appetite, but I've become such an insomniac over the last two years that I was more than prepared to deal with the situation. Or so I thought. Next thing I knew it was 5:45 and I woke up with a half-eaten bottle and a dead-to-the-world baby in my arms. Oh, and a stiff neck to boot. Already we were off to a great start.

At this point, I figured sleep was overrated and I headed to the basement to do my Yoga for Dummies video. Just as I finished, the baby monitor went crazy with a blood curdling scream from Harry. By the time I made it up the steps, I heard Ollie stirring and began to reconsider the plan for moving day. Of course I didn't have time to think about this dilemmas for long because within seconds I had two crying, hungry little boys on my hands.

Fast forward two hours and we were back on schedule. Grandma came over to help with the cleaning and moving. We jumped right in and even put Ollie to work.

He dusted.
And he polished.
And he assembled.

All the while getting more and more excited about sleeping in the same room as his Bubba.

By 4:00 we had both rooms put back together and ready for everybody to go to bed. The only problem is that I trashed the rest of the house in the process. After dinner I made the mistake of talking Daddy into hanging with his boys while I tore into the rest of the house. Sure I could finish a deep clean on five rooms in 3 hours...why not?

As you can imagine I didn't even begin to finish and once again proved that I may never learn to make attainable goals. Even though 90% of the house was trashed, the boys managed to calm down and get to bed by 9:15. And I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed at the beginning of a new era for the Bentley Boys.

Buckin' Broncos

Busy day. Up at 6:00 to workout, shower, eat breakfast, and get out the door by 8:30 to a huge rummage sale of kids stuff with Grammie and Mandy. I have to admit I was nervous about shopping with two pros, but I hung in there quite well and bought a whole bag of clothes for $16.50.

We were home by 11:00 and Daddy, Poppy, and the boys were kicking back watching TV. We had to get prepped for our after nap trip to the Wool Festival, so I rushed around packing bags and picking out clothes, while the guys played with tractors and trashed the living room.

Thankfully the boys went down for an early nap quite easily which gave me the opportunity to snooze on the couch and Daddy time to play on the computer. Poor Ollie has been fighting a cold, so he zonked out before his head hit the pillow.

Soon enough we were off to Falmouth with Grammie and Poppy. As soon as we arrived, the sun disappeared and it started to spit rain. This should be great for Ollie's cold and little Harry. After a quick snack of chicken and dumplings we headed straight for the petting zoo/pony ride area.
As always, Ollie enjoyed the goats even though he wouldn't pet them.

Then we headed to the pony rides. Against Daddy's wishes, Harry went on his first pony ride and he LOVED it! That little guy even figured out to hold onto the horn and smiled the entire time. Of course I got quiet the workout, but it was totally worth it. And best of all I was able to gloat to Daddy that Harry was definitely ready for his first equine experience.
By now, the rain was picking up, so we made a b-line to the farm animal tent. As usual, Ollie was much more interested in the tractor behind the tent, than the livestock in the tent. However, Harry bonded with Marquette the cow and grabbed a handful of cow hair as I walked out of the tent.

Next we checked out a few craft tents, but realizing the rain was not slowing down, Daddy and I decided it was time to head back to Campbell County. Apparently this was a good thing because Ollie couldn't wait to get home and take off his shirt. Who knew he was such a little redneck?

Two warm baths and snacks and both guys passed out by 8:30. I guess riding the broncs is enough to wear out little guys. I'm off to bed too since there is probably a good chance somebody will wake up over night with cold symptoms.

Bath Time for Bubba

Today was blissfully uneventful. I was up and at 'em by 6:00, worked out, took a shower, and ate breakfast all before Harry woke up at 7:30. Then Harry finished breakfast and got dressed all before Ollie got up at 9:00. Everything was like clockwork. Although this was great, I suppose if everyday ran this smoothly I'd be bored out of my mind.

Next we were off to Wal-Mart to pick up some allergin-free snacks for Ollie, baby food for Harry, and various household items. Everybody was in a good mood and we found everything we needed without any difficulties. Once again this was enjoyable, but quite dull for a blog post.

We drove through Wendy's to grab a quick lunch (salad for me, hamburger for Ollie). After eating and playing outside for 30 minutes or so, both boys went down without a hitch for afternoon naps. I took this opportunity to get caught up on Harry's baby book and start dinner.

Two and a half hours later Harry woke up. Yep, the little guy that rarely takes more than a cat nap, took a cue from his big brother and settled in for a long snooze. By the time he finished his bottle, Daddy was home and even though Ollie was still sound asleep, I fired up the grill for dinner.

Aunt Julie stopped by with a John Deere fountain that her friend sent for the boys. I think that will fit in well in the basement with Daddy's JD stuff. We asked her to stay for dinner, but she said she already ate and had to go to Kohl's. Since she likes to shop even less than I do, I she must really had to get some clothes.

After a delicious dinner we all voted on UDF for an after dinner treat. The boys enjoyed ice cream while I had a cup of coffee and Harry attempted to grab a taste of anything he could get his paws on. Next, we went for a drive around our neighborhood just to see if anything new was happening.

By the time we got home it was nearly 8:00 and time for baths. I'm not sure why(maybe it was the lack of excitement throughout the day), but as Harry and I listened to Daddy giving Ollie his bath we decided that it was time for a Bentley Boy double dip.

At first, Ollie wasn't sure what to think of the intruder.

Once he verified with me that this was allowed...

All was well and splishing and splashing began.

This was the perfect ending to an uneventful day.
