Plumbing with Peg

I was off work again today so Ollie and I had a relaxing morning. Grandma called around 9:00 to see what we were up to and invited us to go shopping and out for lunch. Of course we accepted the invite and waited for her to arrive.

First we were off to Kroger to get prunes and apples baby food that I can't seem to find anywhere but there. Somehow we managed to buy enough baby food to last 6 months...okay maybe a week or two, but it seemed like way more than that.

Next we went to Bob Evan's to enjoy cobb salads and tea. Ollie has been to Bobby E's 4 times and every time he's there his face turns red and he starts concentrating. I'm not sure why, but the prunes always kick in and then I have to deal with the aftermath. Today wasn't as bad as the time we had lunch with AJ and Anna (an entire wardrobe change was necessary that day), but he definitely made a mess.

Next we went to Meijer to stock up on Pepsi (4 cases for $16 is a steal) and a few other sale items. Ollie was sleeping when we arrived, so Grandma managed to snatch him up in her cart and let me haul around 8 cases of soft drinks. Oh well, I owe her for the last 32 years of hauling things around for me and especially the 9 long months I was her precious cargo. I will mention however, that a grocery cart with 8 cases of soft drinks and various other things, including a diaper bag, is not easy to steer and we're lucky I didn't tear down the Tide/Downy display I built last week.

When we finally made it home, Ollie was sound asleep. Grandma unhooked him from his car seat and took care of baby boy while I hauled all the groceries to her car and up the basement steps to our kitchen. I'm used to lugging things, but this really wore me out! After eating lunch, Ollie was able to take a nap, but there is no rest for the wicked so I worked on laundry and cleaned the basement.

This evening we went to Aunt Peggy's to put in a new toilet, but I forgot to take pictures. Just when I thought I was honing my photo journalist skills, I'm reminded that I'm still a novice. To sum it up, Ollie was afraid of Jimmy and laughed at Aunt Peggy as she played with his froggy toy. He ate squash and peaches and before we knew it Daddy had the toilet installed and we were headed home.

Now the boys are both snoozing and I'm heading that way soon as well. Off again tomorrow, but I'm sure Ollie and I will find some trouble to get into.
