Ollie slept all night again! Daddy and I are crossing our fingers that we're back on track, but we're not holding our breath yet.
Daddy had to work, so Ollie and I spent the morning relaxing. I stayed out way to late last night, so when Ollie napped I did too. I finally took the advice that everyone gives to the mother of a newborn; better late then never I suppose.
Around 12:00 Poppy drove up on his tractor and Ollienapped my little guy. I readily agreed because I wanted to run to the bank and figured this would be a great opportunity. As I pulled into the driveway Poppy and Ollie were driving into the yard telling me I had to go check out Ollie with Grammie on the tractor. I headed down Lakeview Lane and was surprised to see that Ollie wanted nothing to do with Grammie when the tractor was around, and fussed when she tried to take him from Poppy. He was so adimate that he held onto the steering wheel with all his might. Poor Grammie.
Ollie spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa so Daddy and I could head to the fair to watch the horse show. This was only his second night away from home and his first night at Grandma's. When we arrived Grandma was as prepared as a 10-year-old girl preparing for a slumber party. She had food, toys, and sleeping arrangements all set and seemed to be impatiently awaiting our arrival.
I will admit that leaving him this time was much easier, but I still got a tear in my eye as I waved goodbye to Grandma and Ollie on the back porch. I suppose that I will get that feeling whenever I leave him somewhere for the night. God knows the house sure seems empty and quiet without his presence, even if he's just sleeping.
Daddy and I were off to the fair with Aunt Sissy, Grammie, and Poppy. We also met up with Chad, Mandy, and Macie. I loved seeing little Macie, but she really made me miss my guy. Being responsible only for myself for a few hours was great, but in the end I could't wait to get my hands on that sweet boy again. Of course, I could get used to the sleeping in...
