Motherhood Lite

Ollie slept most of the night last night, waking up at 5:15. We can live with 5:15.

I worked a long day today, so Ollie spent the day with Grammie. By the time I got home and then picked him up, it was time for me to get ready to head back out to Kara's 21st birthday celebration/Hollywood Casino Expedition.

The boys geared up for an evening of bachelorhood by eating some sweet potatoes and green beans, while I freshened up and tore apart my closet searching for my boa. I don't have the opportunity to go out much these days, so the boa and too much lipstick seemed like the only way to go. I kissed my boys goodnight and told them I hopefully wouldn't be home too late, but not to wait up. Next I was out the door to the pre-gambling birthday party at Aunt Georgiann's.

Kara's party was nice, but I must say I was a little bit jealous. I don't think I got $873.00 for my 21st birthday. After gifts and cake we were off to the boats. I agreed to drive because my main goal was to leave Indiana by 11:00. Getting up in the middle of the night all week had taken it's toll and I was exhausted from my 5:15 wake up call this morning.

In a nutshell, I lost $42.00, didn't leave until 11:45, and had a strong reminder why I don't frequent the casinos. It was great hanging with the family and I loved that Aunt Georgiann sat at the same slot machine for 3 hours and only spent approximately $3.00, but I was wishing I would have headed to the seafood buffet so I would have at least left with a full stomach. But hey, it was worth $42.00 to see Kara carded for the first time, oh and did I mention I got carded too:)

This hectic day has been fun but exhausting, and I really missed my sweet baby Ollie. Today's lack of motherhood was very much like drinking Miller Lite. It's refreshing and tasty, but if I have too much I get sick to my stomach.
