I didn't have to be at work until 10:00 this morning, so Ollie and I slept in and had a relaxing morning. Grandma came by around 9:30 to pick up her little buddy and she brought some goodies she bought while shopping yesterday. I've learned Ollie's grandmothers are ALWAYS on the look-out during shopping trips and rarely come home without something for him. Works for me since I HATE shopping.
I picked Ollie up at 4:15 and we rushed home because it was nearing time to eat. The little guy must be going through a growth spurt because he's gobbling up everything and anything we put in front of him, including prunes. After Ollie ate, he headed to the floor while Daddy lounged on the couch observing. Those legs never stop moving, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before crawling or scooting begins. Maybe Ollie will be mobile sometime soon too.
Daddy suggested going to Sonic for dinner so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and skip cooking. Who could say no to that, so we packed up and were out the door within 10 minutes (our start-up time is quite impressive these days).
Ollie fell asleep in the car, which gave me plenty of time to enjoy my grilled chicken sandwich and strawberry slushie. Daddy got the extra large drink (I'd show a picture, but I don't have a panoramic lens) which I found funny because his nickname for me is Chug-a-Lug. Who's the chug-a-lug now? After eating we cruised Walmart's parking log and went for a leisurely drive around A-Town.
Once we got home, Ollie and I went for a stroll and checked out all of the flowers in the front yard. Next, he was ready for a bath. He enjoys his ducky tub so much that I'm considering using it. I'm thinking I could balance a glass of pinot on his duckbill and prop a trashy novel up on his tail.
I've managed to do all necessary chores and have time to relax today. And most impressive, I had time to talk to Molly and Eric on the telephone! I guess I'm starting to get this work thing under control.
Sweet Ollie and Daddy are both sound asleep now and I'm enjoying the quiet. Today was extraordinarily ordinary and I couldn't be happier. Or more relaxed...maybe working will work after all.
