Gardening was today's theme and Grandma wasn't afraid to take it over the
When we arrived, Grandpa was preparing the ground. My little farmer was fascinated with the tractor and watched every move it made. He loved having his picture taken on the fender, especially since it was with Grandpa. After a few moments hanging with Grandma, it was time to get to work, at least for some of us.
We started planting around 4:30 and within minutes the smallest member of the planting brigade was demanding an immediate harvest. Of course I had planned on feeding squash and bananas (this was before my discovery) but thankfully Grandma had a stash of sweet potatoes. Apparently eating too many root veggies can cause a baby to turn orange, but I decided to take that chance rather than risk more banana intake. Who knew there were so many baby food rules!
Despite the pictures below of everyone sitting or sleeping, we planted green beans, lima beans, corn, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, and sunflowers. Grandma's guidance and green thumb are our only hope, because Daddy and I are not experts in gardening.
I guess gardening made Ollie super-sleepy because he was snoring from the moment his head hit the mattress. I'm sure I'll do the same.
i love the pic of ollie sitting on the finder with grandpa....some of my best memories are riding on the tractor finder with my grandpa kavanaugh !!!!!!
