Training Day

Thankfully, last night was back to normal and we all got a full night's rest. It's funny how we treated one night of interrupted sleep like a national crisis, when just a few months ago it was the norm. How quickly we humans adapt to our surroundings.

Today was mostly uneventful and we loved it! The sun was shining and the weather perfect, so we took that opportunity to hang outside. Our neighbor, Paul, was mowing his grass which mesmerized Ollie. His head followed the lawn mower like the crowd at a tennis match follows the ball. Needless to say, there was very little sign language practice with that distraction. Personally, I could have done without the noise.

I have online training that I need to complete for my new job, so while Ollie was napping I was trapped inside working. I had completed half of a really intense training session, when the baby monitor went ballistic. The teeth must have really been flaring up because the amount of slobber coming from his mouth was unbelievable. A little bit of Orajel did the trick, but I can't wait for those teeth to stop tormenting him, and me.

Next thing we knew it was time for Daddy to come home. We put on our shades and headed outside to wait for him. Just as we were forcing Daddy to take our picture, Poppy drove by and saw us outside. We looked at each other, knowing it would only be a matter of seconds before he'd be back. Sure enough, he backed his truck down Pleasant Ridge Road and into our driveway. And you'll never guess who suddenly appeared in our back yard. Grammie. Those two are so predictable!

After some sliding and swinging I headed back inside to complete my training session and I left the boys outside to get some work done. I guess my expectations were too high because this is where they stayed until they were both too hungry to wait another minute to eat. That's my boys...eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep.

Tomorrow I need to finish my training and we need to run some errands. We're almost out of green beans, formula, and most importantly prunes.
