Wearing his monkey pajamas always puts Ollie in a good mood, so we started the day off with a smile. I guess he figures if he can't eat bananas, he can at least wear one on his shirt. Speaking of breakfast, I think we need to cut back on the prunes; they may be working a little too well.
We spent some time playing outside today and some time working inside. Even though Grammie kidnapped Ollie around 3:00 I still didn't get the whole house cleaned. I have a terrible habit of setting expectations too high and then disappointing myself when I don't complete the entire to-do list. When will I learn? Once Daddy got home we headed to Grammie's to negotiate ransom arrangements. Luckily, she gave him up without a battle, requiring only kisses.
Next, we drove to Grandma's to check out the garden progress. Green beans, corn, cucumbers, and sunflowers are already sprouting and if the nice mixture of rain and sunshine continues, we'll be eating tomatoes before we know it.
Daddy and I decided to take a gator ride to the back 40, so we left Ollie with Grandma and Grandpa. We're not sure what happened while we were gone, but as we approached the back door we could hear crying. Those crazy teeth just won't give him a night off, so after trying to calm him with no luck, we decided going home would be the best option.
As soon as we got in the car I had Daddy cue up Love Me Tender. Ollie calmed down almost immediately. Not that it matters, but I say Elvis did the trick and Daddy says it was his masterful driving. The world may never know.
Tomorrow will be another wild Saturday. Daddy and I are hoping to make it to Maifest, but one can never make definitive plans with a baby.
